My first child hardly teethed at all, or at least it didn’t seem like he did. I think he drooled maybe a solid week out of the whole thing and only cried a handful of times. In fact, it didn’t even dawn on me that he was actually teething until he actually popped a tooth through.
With my second, however, it was the complete opposite. She was a no limit soldier with a voice she wasn’t afraid to use. When she started cutting her first tooth at five months old, it was over and done with, so her voice wasn’t used very often in complaint.
I knew then that she would be our last and that if I could just make it through this, I would never, ever have to do it again. In fact, I thought about going and getting my tubes tied every day during this phase. We survived, though, because thankfully she cut her first tooth soon after exhibiting her first teething signs. All the teeth after that seemed to come in without a bother, until it was time for her molars.
When our daughter started cutting her back teeth, I could have sworn we had traded our toddler in for a possessed child. She screamed so long and so loud that I could look at her and swear her head was spinning around. She recessed back into screeching like a newborn instead of using her words like the toddler she was.
It was a nightmare and I wasn’t sure if we could make it through this one. I tried everything that we had tried the first time and nothing worked like it did before. I took to the world wide web and hoped that a desperate mother somewhere would have the answers that I was looking for. How do I save my sanity and make my daughter feel better?
The world wide web suggested Baltic amber teething necklaces found at http://www.balticwonder.com/. I opened a few articles and read up on how they worked. What I found not only sounded like something that would help my toddler but also something that could help me with my everyday anxiety.
Baltic amber is made from the sap of conifer trees that are located in forests near the Baltic Sea. The sap is collected and made into these stones, which have been used in countries surrounding the sea for hundreds of years. Baltic amber contains succinic acid, which is the key component in amber that’s responsible for reducing inflammation, stress, anxiety, and boosting your immunity.
Amber works best when worn because your body is able to heat the stone, allowing for the resin to seep through it’s porous surface and into your bloodstream. Once absorbed, you will start feeling the effects almost immediately. Amber has been used as a natural anti-inflammatory and multivitamin for centuries in these countries.
I put the necklace on my toddler’s ankle to reduce the risk of choking and hoped that it would be the thing to provide some relief, as it was our last ditch effort. I bought myself one to wear as well, due to my everyday anxiety. We both started to notice a difference within a few days.
My daughter was able to start sleeping in longer stretches through the night and I had noticed that her gum inflammation had decreased. By the second week, her symptoms were almost completely gone. I was also feeling the best that I had felt since I had my daughter. I was waking up feeling refreshed, I was able to deal with outbursts better and I felt that I was adjusting to this new life in a way that I hadn’t been able to before.
I’m so thankful for that random internet search. If I hadn’t found Baltic amber, I don’t know how we would have made it through that phase the way we did. If you’re wondering how Baltic amber can change your family’s life, try a necklace out today! Mother nature’s advice is always the best advice.
