You could be totally and utterly in love with your house and still not be satisfied. What is it about the constant need to redecorate! It feels like as soon as one room is finished, you’re on to the next and it can just be never ending! There is something hugely enjoyable about doing up a room or a part of your house. It reflects who you are as a person and where you are in your life. If you’re single your house will be all about you and you can have it designed exactly how you like. If you live with your partner, then you may find you have to compromise. And if you have kids and small children, you might be trying to constantly baby-proof all of the things! It’s okay to want to mix things up a little bit every now and again though. Your house is your home and you should love to be there. Do with it whatever makes you happy and you won’t go too far wrong.
Declutter the rooms
One way to easily makeover your house is to do a bit of spring cleaning – even if it’s not springtime! Decluttering is actually very good for the soul, and it will instantly give your house a more modern edge. Tidy away all of your knick knacks and use storage to keep everything safe. Invest in some new books and vases and put these on display instead. Just because you’re cutting back on clutter doesn’t mean that you can’t put anything on display. With all of the space that you make from decluttering you might be able to give you room a whole new feature!
Look to the outside
Sometimes it’s really easy only to look to the interior when you’re changing up the look of your house. It’s crucial that you don’t forget the outside, though! It’s the first thing that people see when they pull up to your door. Look up and consider whether you need to enlist the help of some roof replacement experts, or perhaps your front door needs replacing. Even asking a window cleaner to come round to clean will give your home a little refresh and sparkle.
Dress your windows
You’d be surprised at how much of a difference dressing up a window can make. If you’re lucky enough to have a beautiful view to look out on – then make the most of it! Frame it with gorgeous curtains and make it a focal point, by putting a small table in front of it. If your view isn’t anything special – still, play with the look of your window. Don’t let all of that lovely natural light go to waste by never drawing the curtains or blinds.
The most important thing is to have fun with your home. If you want to change how it looks every month then you go ahead and do it!
